The judo associations of Santo Domingo, Barahona and Independencia won the first places in the VI Domingo Savio Cup held on Saturday at the Invivienda multipurpose facility with a special dedication to Dr. Lupo Hernández.
The representation of the province of Santo Domingo won first place by adding a total of 647 points, while second place went to the Barahona team, which obtained 323 points, and the Independencia team took the third place trophy by register 300 points.
The contest, organized by the Judo Association of the Santo Domingo province, chaired by Luisa Martínez, had the endorsement of the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo).
The fourth place was occupied by the Monte Plata Judo Association, with 215 points, while the Casa Nacional de Judo Club was sixth, with 212 points, and San Pedro de Macorís was sixth, with 113 points.
Seventh place went to the Naco Sports Club, with 131 points, and eighth place corresponded to the Metropolitan Association, with 122 points.
The tournament, sponsored by Fedojudo and the Leidi Germán Foundation, was attended by Augusto Martínez, president of the Sports Union of the Santo Domingo province, as well as directors of the federation such as its president Gilberto García, Rudy Contreras and the immortal of the sport Juan Chalas, among others.
