The Mexican archer Sebastián García will take advantage of the opportunity he will have this weekend to be alongside the best in the <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/02/la-jornada-tlaxcala-final-venue-of-the-archery-world-cups/" title="La Jornada – Tlaxcala, final venue of the Archery World Cups”>Archery World Cup Final to be held in Tlaxcala with the plus of being local and Dreaming of a podium in the compound modality.
“They are the seven best and I because I go as headquarters, but I do feel that it has been three years since the Final was in Mexico, Last years I stayed close. Now it’s my turn to be one, it’s an opportunity because I can rub shoulders with the greats. “That feeling of scoring tens, that the arrows fall well, is a very cool feeling,” said in an interview with Claro Sports.
Sebastián is in 31st place in the World Archery ranking and his growth occurred in the last ones that already led him to be the best on the continent after winning the Pan American Championship this 2024.
“They have been the highest in the last three years, that is why I have noticed how I have grown and grown over the years, Well, now is the time for me to be here and we have to take advantage. “I’m looking forward to the draw.”
The man from Coahuila has been dedicated to the compound bow for 14 years and has the achievement of being the first Mexican to win an outdoor World Youth Championship of its modality in Spain, in 2019.
“Specifically, that competition changed my life a lot in sports on the archery side. I was close to not going to that World Cup because my parents wanted to send me on an exchange to the United States for a year to study English,” he said.
