On the night of Tuesday October 15 to Wednesday October 16, members of the <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2024/10/they-wanted-to-clear-the-honor-of-a-young-girl-the-punitive-expedition-left-three-injured/" title="they wanted to clear the honor of a young girl, the punitive expedition left three injured”>Sri Lankan community orchestrated a punitive expedition in Moissy-Cramayel (Seine-et-Marne). Their goal was to avenge a young girl close to them. She had recently accused a young man of having sexually assaulted her during a party. However, in the absence of sufficient evidence, his complaint was dismissed.
A punitive expedition with hammers, knives, baseball bats and iron bars
The ambush was set up to meet the supposed attacker. Around midnight, he was invited to a meeting in a parking lot in the Lugny district. When he arrived, accompanied by two friends, several individuals got out of three vehicles, armed with baseball bats, iron bars, hammers, and knives.
The three men had to face a group of around ten individuals seeking revenge. One of them received a blow to the back of the head with a batwhile another managed to find refuge in a car. The victims received 1, 5 and 7 days of total incapacity for work (ITT). In addition, one of them saw his vehicle damaged by iron bars.
Six members of the Sri Lankan community arrested
As soon as the report was given, the departmental dog brigade intervened and arrested six suspects in possession of weapons. A bat with blood on it was found.
While in police custody, the suspects admitted their involvement in the events. A minor, residing in Seine-Saint-Deniswas presented before the Bobigny judicial court. The other five, aged 18 to 25, were handed over to the Melun public prosecutor’s office, in order to be presented in immediate appearance.
