Las Tunas – Six players and two coaches of the Leñadores, are part of the Cuban teams that will compete in the V Caribbean Cup, to be held in the Bahamas from October 23 to 28, and an exhibition game in Mexico.
Players Denis Peña, Jean Lucas Baldoquín, and Eliánder Bravo were called to the Cuban team that will compete in the Caribbean Cup, where they will try to retain the crown with a group full of young players.
The Cuban team is made up of two catchers, seven infielders, four outfielders and nine pitchers.
Sponsored by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation (COCABE), the tournament, which will be held at the Andre Rodgers National Stadium, will also include the representative teams of the Dominican Republic, Curaçao, the US Virgin Islands, Saint Maarten and the host country.
COPABE announced that the 2025 Caribbean Cup will be a qualifier for the Central American and Caribbean Games of Santo Domingo 2026.
Meanwhile, Yosvani Alarcón, Yudier Rondon and Alberto Pablo Civil, in addition to coaches Abeysi Pantoja and Jorge Hierrezuelo, will participate in the opening match at the Tepic Stadium in Mexico on November
Composed of 18 players, divided into two catchers, six infielders, five outfielders and an equal number of pitchers, the group includes a mix of experienced players and young players, all with excellent performance in the last national championship.
Led by Ángel Ortega, the team will have the honor of inaugurating the Tepic stadium known as “The Pacific Colossus”, one of the venues of the Premier 12 group, where the world’s top-ranked nations will compete.
