SG Hemsbach 1912 eV – division of points at the start of the season for the first SG badminton team

The first match day of the badminton association round was not a good one for the two SG Hemsbach teams. Already weakened, they had to accept further absences due to illness on match day. Unfortunately, the SG’s 2nd team was unable to play their away game at TV Heidelberg and started the new season with a score of 0:8.

Hemsbach 1 played at home against TSG Wiesloch 1. After the first men’s doubles Fischer/Reinemuth went to the guests and Haas/Wellmann had to give up the deciding set, their backs were a bit against the wall. The women’s doubles Fuhrmann/Stieler were clearly superior to their opponents and managed to make it 1:2 with a clear score of 21:9, 21:9. In return, Wiesloch was able to win the first men’s singles again. Stefan Haas played to his stamina in the 2nd HE, repeatedly drove his opponent across the pitch and reduced the score to 2:3 with 21:16, 21:15.

Immediately afterwards, youth player Feline Stieler gave her opponent no chance in the women’s singles with 21:8, 21:12 and got the equalizer for her team. When Ingo Wellmann, after a great fight and with a lot of experience and finesse, took the second set from his young opponent from Wiesloch after losing the first set, a victory still seemed possible. Unfortunately, the deciding set went to the opponent. So the final Mixed Fuhrmann/Reinemuth could at best equalize to 4:4. After a clear 21:7 in the first set, an inexplicable break suddenly came into play and the second set was lost 14:21. Fortunately, Fuhrmann/Reinemuth recovered in the 3rd set and got the ultimately deserved equalizer at 21:10 to make it 4:4.

On Saturday October 19th, 2024 from 3 p.m. there will be a home game day in the sports hall of the education center with two games each for the 1st and 2nd teams. With a full complement, both teams should be able to achieve their first victories. Badminton enthusiasts are welcome. Entry is free.
