The young talents of SG Hemsbach Badminton come back from the ranking tournament in Mörsch with a gold and a bronze medal. At the very strong tournament, the Hemsbach youth were able to score a lot of points and sell themselves very well against the competition.
Last Sunday the youth talents of SG Hemsbach Badminton set off again. The goal: The E ranking tournament in Mörsch. With 8 talents, the SG once again had a large number of participants and was able to achieve great success. In the boys U11 category, Elias Krämer and Anton Konietzny managed to reach the semi-finals with their variable play. Elias failed there because of none other than the eventual winner. For Anton it was against 2nd seed Shriyan Manikanta Prabhala (TSG Heilbronn). After a hard-fought first set, which Anton won 19:17, his opponent came out trumps and ultimately narrowly defeated Anton in three sets. The game for third place was Hemsbacher’s affair. There Anton and Elias were able to present their entire repertoire of running and punching techniques and in the end it was Elias who was just ahead and bagged the bronze medal.
In the boys U13 category, Lennox Brinck and Alejandro Baizan Gonzalez competed for Hemsbach. Lennox played his way into the quarter-finals thanks to his running strength, but unfortunately he was stopped there. But Lennox also presented himself strongly in the later placement games and was able to achieve a solid 8th place. His teammate Alejandro, who was a little unlucky in the draw, had to admit defeat in the first round. But he also played well in the coming games and reached 18th place in a very strong field.
The star of the day was Lucy Habermaier in the girls U13 age group. After two very strong group games, Lucy reached the final round and always gained an advantage with her powerful attacking game. And no one should stop them in the final round either. Hard smashes, well-placed drops and fast drives gave Lucy the group win in the final round and thus her place at the top of the podium. The second in the group, Sophia Fischer, struggled more in her group. After two narrow defeats, she found her game and was able to score points in the placement round. Precise and tactically clever net play brought them to 7th place.
In the boys U15 class, Vincent Sommerauer took to the field for SG Hemsbach. In a field that was also very strong, Vincent lost the first game, but fought his way up to 18th place thanks to his variable game and his fast drives. In such a strong field of participants, this result is certainly impressive.
Neele Ackermann was the last talent from SG Hemsbach to play in the girls U17 class. There she initially had to fight, but then played up and defeated Shreya Goel from Dossenheim with a breathtaking 21:19 18:21 21:19. In the game for 5th place, however, Neele hardly noticed the previous tough match. With fighting spirit and motivation from her coach Alena Stieler, she played strongly and narrowly missed the third set in the placement game.
The SG’s deputy youth director, Fenelon Dugimont, congratulates the Hemsbachers: “In a tournament with almost 120 entries and such a strong field of participants, the players can be more than just proud of their results.” The players from SG Hemsbach were looked after by department head Karlheinz Hohenadel and youth coach Alena Stieler.
