SG Hemsbach 1912 eV – Good record of the Hemsbach badminton teams

The Hemsbach teams leave the second matchday of the season with a good record.

Hemsbach I played against TSG Rohrbach and TV Neckargemünd. Hemsbach II hosted the DJK Hockenheim and Fortuna Schwetzingen II.

In contrast to the first match day, this time both Hemsbach teams were able to compete with almost the best line-up. Hemsbach I first received TSG Rohrbach in the afternoon game. The two men’s doubles T. Hartmann / H. Reinemuth and M. Fischer / S. Haas were able to prevail in the deciding set in two close matches. The women’s doubles of S. Fuhrmann / F. Stieler clearly dominated their opponents with 21:7, 21:10, so that before the singles it was a comfortable 3:0. T. Hartmann repeatedly put a lot of pressure on his opponent with tough smashes and made it 4-0 with 21:19, 21:16. After a somewhat shaky start, F. Stieler ultimately clearly distanced her opponent in the women’s singles with 21:15, 21:10 and thus secured victory. In the other men’s singles, M. Fischer won 21:18, 21:17 and S. Haas 21:11, 28:26 in two sets before the mixed doubles of S. Fuhrmann / H. Reinemuth won with 21:14, 21:17 8-0 victory completed.

Hemsbach II also got off to an excellent start to the season after canceling the first matchday against DJK Hockenheim due to illness. First, the experienced 1st men’s doubles N. Engelhardt / I. Wellmann prevailed in a hard-fought match with 21:15 in the 3rd set, before the women’s doubles A. Stieler / B. Hertinger made it 2: 21:17, 23:21: 0 increased. In the second men’s doubles, the experienced Hockenheimer Held / Wühl had little to counter the aggressive attacking game of the Hemsbach youngsters Fenelon Dugimont / Dominik Bajic. After Alena Stieler made it 4-0 in the women’s singles with 21:9, 21:3, a draw was already achieved. The three men’s singles all went smoothly to Hemsbach with 21:18, 21:14 (N. Engelhardt), 21:19, 21:15 (F. Dugimont) and 21:11, 21:14 (D. Bajic). The mixed team of Brigitte Hertinger / Ingo Wellmann completed the 8-0 victory with 21:17, 23:21.

In the evening game, both Hemsbach teams had a real chance to determine their position against the respective promotion aspirants in their class.

Hemsbach I welcomed last season’s runner-up Neckargemünd. While the first men’s doubles T. Hartmann / H. Reinemuth had the upper hand in the deciding set by almost 22:20, the second men’s doubles unfortunately had to accept the 1:1 equalizer in two sets. The women’s doubles of Simone Fuhrmann / Alena Stieler, who represented her sister Feline at short notice, initially needed some coordination, but were ultimately able to confidently make it 2:1 with 21:18, 21:12. In the women’s singles, Simone Fuhrmann skilfully put her opponent under pressure with tough smashes and repeatedly surprising drops and achieved her third victory with 21:14, 21:13. After the first two men’s singles were lost in hard-fought matches with 19:21, 16:21 and 15:21, 18:21, the score was 3:3. The 3rd men’s singles and the mixed doubles, which ran virtually in parallel, were hard to beat in terms of drama. The mixed team of Alena Stieler / Heiko Reinemuth initially lost the first set 19:21 very unfortunately, was hopelessly behind 0:11 in the second, fought back to 15:17, but had to pass in the end with 17:21. So it was up to captain Stefan Haas to get a draw. Unfortunately, he lacked the last bit of luck in both the 1st and the decisive 3rd set, both at 19:21. So all in all a 3:5 that could have ended the other way around.

Hemsbach II hosted Fortuna Schwetzingen. After both men’s doubles were successful, but the women’s doubles had to be given up, we went into the singles with a 2-1 lead. I. Weinert fought for every point in the women’s singles, but had to accept the equalizer to make it 2-2. After losing the first men’s singles, it was again the two young talents F. Dugimont (24:22, 21:13) and D. Bajic (21:11, 21:8) who brought the Hemsbachers into the lead with 4:3. The final mixed match and thus the equalizer to 4:4 went to the guests from Schwetzingen.
