Silbö San Pablo Burgos beat Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto for its fifth victory of the league season. The team led by Bruno Savignani knew how to generate good advantages through interior play on a day in which they did not shine in the exterior percentage. Luke Fischer was the most outstanding player for the Castilians, with 19 points and 4 rebounds to accumulate 19 rating credits. With the results of the day, the victory leaves the Coliseum team as the only undefeated team and the sole leader of the Primera FEB.
Luke Fischer dominated the heights at the Coliseum, allowing Silbö San Pablo Burgos to take the lead (6-2). From the outside, Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto recomposed itself in the light (8-8). The Castilians did not give up in their efforts to dominate the match and with an important run of 11-0 they established their maximum advantage (19-8). The visitors tried to adjust the difference at the end of the first quarter (22-15).
A 7-0 start distanced Savignani’s team, who put their best advantage at 14 points (29-15). Javier Rodríguez’s team countered under the leadership of Kevin Bercy midway through the fourth (32-23).
The contribution of Gyorgy Golomán and the intensity of Dídac Cuevas once again took the Castilians to the maximum advantage (37-23). Mikel Sanz’s triples and Bercy’s points supported a new approach by the Asturians, who closed the gap at halftime (44-37).
The Burgos team returned from the locker room with some active Fischer, Gudmundsson and Lapornik, who once again stretched the lead to 15 points (54-39). The local team advanced with ambition, to which the contribution of Corbalán, Cuevas and Díez gave them a maximum advantage of 17 points (61-44). Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto continued pursuing its options in the final quarter (66-56), and tried to revolutionize the game by looking for quick offensives (66-59). The Castilians requested a timeout with which they managed to take advantage through Wembi (71-59). The distance moved within the ten-point barrier in the final stages of the duel at the Coliseum (75-65). Fischer’s work completed the fifth victory of the Primera FEB season for Silbö San Pablo Burgos (79-69).
The Burgos team will play its next Primera FEB match against Caja Rural CB Zamora, on Sunday, November 3, from 12:00 p.m., at the Ángel Nieto Pavilion.
