The doping allegations surrounding tennis world number one Jannik Sinner continue to dominate the headlines in the scene. Sinner’s former physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi spoke last week about the allegations against his former protégé and himself, saying that he was solely to blame.
It is still unclear whether physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi was ultimately responsible or primarily responsible for Jannik Sinner’s positive doping test. An ongoing investigation by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) aims to find out exactly this. A result is not yet available.
Naldi himself has a clear position on the matter. He only sees himself partly responsible. According to him, there is a truth that has so far been hidden from the public.

Naldi continued: “I hope that sooner or later I will be able to tell what happened to give the public a general picture. The way the story has been interpreted by the general public, it looks like this like it was just my fault. But that’s not the case.”
The physiotherapist assured that everyone who deals intensively with the case knows that they are not the only culprit. “But I know that not everyone made this effort,” said the Italian, defending himself against the accusation that he was solely responsible for Sinner’s contaminated sample in the spring of 2024.
Sinner’s team attributed the positive Clostebol result to a spray that Naldi used before the massage to treat a wound on his finger. The forbidden substance is said to have finally entered Sinner’s body through Naldi’s hand.
