Skellefteå Triumphs with Unbelievable Goal: Rögle’s Ongoing Struggles in Ice Hockey

That is not true for Rögle at the moment. Ahead of the SC final replay against Skellefteå, the Ángelholms were in jumbo place, and it didn’t get any better.

Sixth straight loss in a match that contained a goal that is among the strangest seen.

– I kept an eye on it the whole way and saw that it was on its way in unless Rifalk (Rögle’s goalkeeper reds note) managed to see it and he didn’t, says goal shooter Max Lindholm to SVT Sport

It was Rögle who took the lead after just over a quarter of the first period through Linus Sandin, but drafted talent Axel Sandin-Pellikka scored a delicious spot kick to make it 1-1 just before the period break.

Max Lindholm with the strangest goal of the year

So far the Skåne team was involved, but then it got tough. First came 1-2 in power play by Anton Heikkinen, then came the odd goal.

In the power play, Skellefteå’s Max Lindholm shoots at a covering Rögle defender and the puck flies straight up into the air out of view for the viewers. When it then comes back, it bounces behind goalkeeper Christoffer Rifalk and, to the great surprise of most, slides into the goal.

– I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before, that no one on the ice knows where the puck is, says SVT’s expert Jonas Andersson.

Rögle then never managed to get a reduction so the match ended 3-1.
