Softball: Old Parma in fifth place at the Saronno tournament with the U14s

Old Parma ranked fifth in the standings at the “Piccole Stelle” tournament held in Saronno last weekend, organized by the Lombard club and dedicated to the figure of Enrico Obletter, Australian softball player, sports manager and softball coach naturalized Italian who passed away on 22 February 2021 at the age of 62 due to complications from Covid-19.

The event was won by the hosts of Saronno. Individual awards such as MVP and best pitcher to Gaia Frignani, athlete of the Blue Girls Pianoro on loan to Saronno and best hitter Roomie of the Dutch team Dutch. In group A, Old Parma drew 8-8 with Malnate, lost 6-1 to Saronno and defeated Ronchi 6-5. With Malnate, the young yellow-blue team scored four in the second and the same number in the third, with Sofia Cenci (protagonist of a double in the third) and Aurora Fabbri in the circle. Against the hosts, one run in the fourth for Old, with pitchers Alessandra Metta and Rebecca Tavani. The yellow-blues completed the round of cushions with Veronica Cucci (single) over Beatrice Caiafa’s doubles. Against Ronchi, Old Parma scored one point in the first, four in the second and one in the fifth. On the Metta platform, Fabbri e Tavani.
