The proven line-up of Spartak Trnava entered the final third round of the Niké League against Komárno, Thomas Nikolaou was given the opportunity at left back from the start.
The Angels struck against the newcomer from the first dangerous action, Roman Procházka accurately headed Holík’s cross from the right side – 1:0.
Komárno could have equalized in the eleventh minute, after short passes in front of Spartak’s penalty area, Bayemi got to the end, but missed Frelih’s goal.

Žák had a chance to score in the seventeenth minute, but at the last moment the defense blocked his attempt for a corner kick. The penalty in the form of a goal came in the 20th minute, when Sylvestr beat Freliha with a header after a corner kick – 1:1.
The scorer of the equalizing goal paid for his intervention with a bloody injury after the collision, and after a few minutes of treatment, the fourth referee sent him to the cabin to change his shirt.
Spartak dominated in the next few minutes, but after a tragicomic collision between Holík and Frelih during the pass in the 36th minute, Bayemi got to the ball, pushed through the defending players and beat Frelih – 1:2.
Komárno turned the score around during the first half and took the lead at once. Daniel tried to react to the situation in his typical way, his shot from outside the penalty area lacked force and accuracy and banker Trefil caught the ball.
In added time, Komárna Žák scored the third goal, he placed the ball from the right side inaccurately, and the teams went to the cabins in an unfavorable situation for Spartak, and the home players earned a whistle from the stands for their performance.
During the half-time break, coach Gašparík responded by making substitutions, sending Mikovič and Azang onto the field, Nikolaou and Kratochvíl finished the game. Spartak’s experienced left back entered the second half with the captain’s armband that Procházka had at the start of the match.
The new pair on the field already got a dangerous chance in the 48th minute, Mikovič looked for Azang with a centered ball.
In the 57th minute, Sylvestr was in action again and he consistently followed the ball towards Frelih and almost punished the goalkeeper’s mistake, who lost the ball. However, he aimed wide and the score did not change.
Zeljković’s finish also ended inaccurately, when he volleyed the ball to Komárno’s goal after a tap from Ďuriš.
Spartak’s pressure continued and Azango had the equalizing goal on his boot, but he only hit the goalkeeper Trefil with his shot. Azango was also unlucky a minute later, his shot from inside the penalty area was again aimed at the goalkeeper.
When, in the 67th minute, Daniel got to the end and hit the goalkeeper of the guests from close range, it seemed that Trnava’s bad luck had no end. After a while, Ofori imitated him, and Trnava kept losing.
The goal didn’t come until the 81st minute, when Ďuriš took the ball on the run and selflessly passed it to Ofori, who was running on the left, who beat Trefil with a technical shot – 2:2.
What was not possible during the entire second half came at the end. Michal Ďuriš arranged a perfect turnaround in the 84th minute, when Procházka’s cross reached the net at the back post – 3:2.
In the end, the guests also attacked with the goalkeeper, Pich could have scored from the break, but he missed the open goal.
Spartak thus completed the second time in a row to turn the score around, when they were again losing by a goal and managed to win.

Michal Gašparík, coach of Spartak: “After the emotional victory in Trenčín, we were preparing and preparing these two or three days so that we could handle the match in our heads as well. So that we don’t think that we will do it alone and forget that the last part of the table has arrived. We had to play actively, which we did, we had an excellent start to the match, an excellent combination, we scored a goal and then nothing. Komárno punished us and then a curious goal came, but Komárno was better and deservedly won the halftime. In the second half, it was us again, the boys played well offensively and created chance after chance. It’s a bit of a grind for us because we scored three goals, but we didn’t convert the chances. This also happened to us in Trenčín. Finally, it was enough to win, important, emotional, all the more beautiful. In the end we are all happy, we could have lost the game, but I think we were better and deserved to win in the second half.”
Mikuláš Radványi, trainer Komárno: “It’s hard for me to say after such a match, we had the home team on the bucket list, we were leading 2:1 at halftime, Sylvester could have decided it in the second half. I think we played a great first half, we got a quick goal after our mistake, but then we took the initiative and scored two goals. I encouraged the boys to be active, we knew that the Trnava team would run after halftime and put pressure on us. We should have scored and decided it. Unfortunately, we created enough chances, but we were not strong in the penalty area, as well as in our own, we conceded three goals. Very sorry. We have two days for regeneration, Dunajská Streda awaits us. We are showing that we can play with everyone and I believe that we will break it and get points.”
