The regional director Natale Saluci presided over the meeting
Regional Director Natale Saluci has called a meeting to formalize the Regional Technical Managers of each sporting discipline for the Sicily Team of Special Olympics Italy. The selection was made on the basis of the CVs of each candidate by the National Manager of the Special Olympics Technical Area, prof. Alfonso Masullo. The meeting, held via video link, took place in the presence of the National Vice President of Special Olympics Alessandro Palazzotti and the Regional President Giovanni Caramazza.
Here are the various figures identified and their respective roles: Claudia Galassi, Regional Technical Coordinator; Francesca Giammellaro, Gymnastics Coach; Giovanni Mento, Table Tennis Coach; Ionut Brinza, Rowing Technician; Mario Gerbino, Tennis Coach; Orazio Arancio, Rugby Coach; Oscar Argetta, Football Coach; Pino Volpe, Karate Technician; Salvatore Plaia, Badminton Coach; Salvatore Bernardo, Basketball Coach; Giuseppe Veletti, Athletics Coach; Aldo Tirrito, Riding Technician.
The statement by Regional Director Natale Saluci: «Today we can develop the sport of Special Olympics in Sicily thanks to these professionals who believe in the “inclusive Sicily” project, putting themselves on the line themselves. We will soon have a meeting to establish the training courses to be done, which will be free for participants thanks to the contribution of the Sicily Region, and a program of activities to be done to create new sporting realities that can contribute to improving psychophysical skills, autonomy and inclusion in individuals with intellectual disabilities”.
