Sport, fun and values come together in the Tres Cantos School Badminton Championship on October 27

On October 27, the Ciudad de Columbia Sports Center in Tres Cantos will host an exciting event: the school badminton championship. Organized by the Arroyo Tejada Sports and Cultural Group in collaboration with the Tres Cantos City Council and Laetus Sport, this tournament will offer young people from the municipality the opportunity to compete, learn and have fun, regardless of their level of experience in badminton.

The main objective of this championship is to promote the practice of this sport among schoolchildren, from the youngest to teenagers, so that they discover the benefits of a physical activity as dynamic as badminton. With several age categories, the tournament is open to all Tres Cantos students born between 2009 and 2017. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time playing a racket or if you’re already an expert, everyone is welcome!

Schedules and categories: A sports day for everyone!

The day will begin early, at 9:00 a.m., with the first category called: the male fry, born in 2013 and 2014. Throughout the day, different competitions will take place ranging from the youngest to the cadets. The categories are organized as follows:

  • 9:00 h: Male juvenile (born in 2013 and 2014)
  • 10:00 h: Benjamin male (born in 2015 and 2016)
  • 11:00 h: Female juvenile (born in 2013 and 2014)
  • 12:00 h: Feminine Benjamín (born in 2015 and 2016) and Multigender Prebenjamín (born in 2017)
  • 13:00 h: Infant and male and female cadets (born between 2009 and 2012)

The wide age range allows children and adolescents to enjoy a day full of sports and fun, competing in a healthy and lively environment.

An event open to all levels

One of the great virtues of this championship is that no previous experience in badminton is necessary to participate. All Tres Cantos students who meet the age requirements can enroll in the corresponding category, regardless of their level. This accessibility makes the event an excellent opportunity for young people to discover a new sport or improve their skills if they already practice it.

Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, the Arroyo Tejada Sports and Cultural Group will organize other championships, all with the aim of promoting sports practice in a recreational and educational environment. As on this occasion, the aim will be for participants to enjoy the game, while promoting important values such as teamwork, respect for the opponent and personal effort.
