Sportivo Belgrano said goodbye to the Federal A Tournament despite beating Germinal de Rawson by 1 to 0 for the second leg of the Round of 16 of the Revalida. The “green” had to reverse the defeat by two away goals and although they were much superior to their rival and played with an extra man, they were only able to break the figure of goalkeeper Gonzalo Laborda, who was largely responsible for the classification, once.
The “Green” came out with everything from the first minute, insistently searching for the rival goal. The arrivals were constant, but the figure of Gonzalo Laborda, Germinal de Rawson’s goalkeeper, grew bigger under the three posts. The visiting goalkeeper covered everything that came his way, and was without a doubt the great figure of the match.
With one more man from the first half, due to a double yellow card by Gonzalo Ramírez, Sportivo dominated the game and generated several clear scoring chances. Hank, Márquez, Parodi and Montroni had their chances, but Laborda was always attentive to avoid the fall of his goal.
In the second half, the “Green” found the reward for their insistence. Carlos Arriola made it 1-0 and ignited the hope of a comeback. However, nerves and desperation played tricks in the final minutes. Despite the attempts of the admitted Flores and Kloster, the marker did not move.
Sportivo Belgrano fought until his last breath, but could not achieve the feat. Laborda’s effectiveness and some of his own mistakes ended up sentencing the elimination.
