The competition is intended to raise money for the special therapies that little Jadow needs. It will take place on Tuesday November 5th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Polideportivo El Carmen.
The councilor of the sports delegation, Luis Gil, and the representative of the participating schools, Julio Domínguez, informed today of the IV Solidarity Badminton Meeting between the centers, which will take place next Tuesday, November 5th, from 09:00 to 14:00 p.m. will take place in the El Carmen sports pavilion.
It is expected that about 150 young people from 3rd and 4th grades from IES Mar de Alborán, Mediterráneo, Puerta del Mar, Monterroso and Profesor Hormigo, as well as secondary school students from Colegio Juan XXIII, will take part.
Both Luis Gil and Julio Domínguez explained that it is one of the many sports activities carried out with the aim of promoting minority sports, facilitating sports and equal participation between genders and promoting the integration of people with different abilities support.
They also emphasized the charitable nature of this event, which this year aims to raise funds to be used for the therapies that little Jadow, a primary school student at the Simón Fernández School, needs. In this sense, they recalled that the first edition of this meeting was dedicated to the Maternity Hospital of Málaga-Ronald McDonald House and the Andrés Olivares Foundation; the second was for the Parkinson SOL Association of Estepona; and last year funds were raised for the association of people with disabilities ASDIES.
The participating schools are responsible for selecting and preparing the pairs they will represent, while the badminton club is responsible for the competition system and adapting the rules of the game.
The IV Inter-Centre Solidarity Badminton Meeting is organized by the Municipality of Estepona in collaboration with the Alejandro Navarro Deportista and UBUNTU Estepona associations and the Estepona Badminton Club. It is also supported by the participating schools and the CEIP Valeriano López.
