The Malchin judo club also achieved impressive success at the renowned 1-2-3 Küchen Cup in Potsdam-Babelsberg.

824 fighters from 72 clubs competed in Potsdam

The tournament, which attracted 824 fighters from 72 clubs, 12 federal states as well as from the Czech Republic, Georgia and Ukraine, was considered a top-class event in which only the best judoka from the participating clubs took part.

Despite the strong competition and a comparatively small delegation of only 14 fighters, the JC Malchin was able to achieve remarkable results.

In the U9, U11 and U13 age groups, the young judoka secured six gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals.

The Malchin Judo Eleven stashed away eight medals in Potsdam.

This impressive performance catapulted the club to first place in the team rankings on the first day of competition – even though other clubs were represented with over 50 fighters.

On the second day, the U15, U18 and adult age groups competed, but the Malchiners were not represented in these categories. Nevertheless, the successes of the first day were enough to reach fifth place in the overall ranking of the tournament, which brought the judokas another trophy.

Particularly noteworthy is the performance of Ben Trampenau, who had 36 judoka in his weight class alone, which corresponds to a very high level of performance, and confidently secured the gold medal.

Oskar Finkenwirth, Oskar Pieper, Sofia Ernst-Sanchez, Marieke Hacker, Gustav Kemmesies and Ben Trampenau won gold medals.

Kiryll Krüsemann won the silver medal.

Anni Reimers and Helene Litwin took bronze medals with them on the way home.
