Momentarily, Caen TTC was not leader of Pro B on Monday October 28, 2024 when it hosted Amiens. Having not yet played their third match, Xavier Renouvin’s men counted two points behind leader Nice. Thanks to two victories from Emmanuel Lebesson and one from Stéphane Ouaiche, Caen TTC was able to correct this anomaly (3-0).
An almost perfect start to the season
With three victories in three matches, Caen TTC is now leader invaincu de Pro B. The reassembled operation could not have started better for Xavier Renouvin’s men.
Everything is going well so far. We know there won’t be an easy match this year and it’s fortunate to have four players capable of holding on mentally. Stéphane, for example, could have broken down in match 2, but he held on and ended up winning.
Indeed, after Emmanuel Lebesson’s opening victoryStéphane Ouaiche had difficulty winning against Benjamin Fruchart (122nd national). The Algerian seemed to get frustrated when he led two sets to zero, but finally managed to emerge victorious from his duel in the fifth set. Jules Cavaillé then had the opportunity to offer victory to Caen TTCbut could not win his match in the fifth round.
We know that we will have players facing us who may be less well ranked, but who will not make our task easier. Santiago Lorenzo didn’t give up at all and he bothered Jules considerably with his serve. When it’s like that, you have to resist mentally.
It was ultimately Emmanuel Lebesson who was responsible for get the victory point facing Benjamin Fruchart.
The Caen TTC will continue its mission from Friday with a trip to Lille on Wednesday October 30, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. With 12 points taken out of 12 possible for the moment, all the lights are green.
