Tennis – Dakar international junior tournament final (d-60): hot fights on the courts of the Olympic club

The first laurels of the Dakar international tournament will be distributed this Saturday, October 26 at the Dakar Olympic Club. This will be at the end of the singles finals of the first week of competition (J60) in the men’s and women’s categories. The men’s final will pit this Saturday on the courts of Rihards Neimanis of Latvia against the Pole Viktor Jez. In the semi-final, Le Lat managed to open the succession to the young Briton Cristopher Thies, one of the winners of the 2023 edition. This, by clearly winning in 2 sets (6-1; 6-1). While the Pole put an end to the ambitions of Senegalese hope Zoheir Fardoun with a score of (7-5; 6-3). For the ladies, the final will pit the young Frenchman Manon Favier against the Ivorian Emira Diabate. The two players emerged respectively victorious in the semi-final of the two British players, Grace Chinwike (6-1; 6-2) and Alisha Ndukwu (6-1; 6-2).

While waiting for these two duels, the tournament saw its first doubles winners yesterday, Friday October 25, 2024. Among the men, the pair composed of Senegal Zoheir Fardoun and Latvia Rihards Neimanis took over the duo Christopher Thies (Germany) and Poland Viktor Jez (6-2; 1-6; 10-7).

The women’s final won the team Emira Diabate (Ivory Coast) and Manon Favier (France) at the expense of Agata Budnik (Poland) and Amelia Grzelak (France) with a score of (7-6(3); 6- 3).
