As the former tennis star explained, the lump found on her neck was diagnosed back in May. She then underwent an MRI scan. “I was informed that it was a brachial cyst,” Williams wrote under the video. On the advice of doctors, she initially decided against surgery, but the cyst “continued to grow”.
After further tests, including a biopsy, her doctors recommended surgery because the cyst could have become infected or worse, leaked,” said Williams.
The record Grand Slam winner then posted a video of herself from the hospital and wrote: “I am so grateful and happy that everything worked out and, above all, that I am healthy.”
