[Reuters]- The Toray Pan Pacific Open (OP) women’s tennis event announced on the 18th that former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka, who was scheduled to participate as a wild card, will be absent due to a lower back injury.
Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, withdrew from the China OP on the 1st due to an injury in the same area. He also declined to participate in the Kinoshita Group Japan OP, which is currently being held.
The last tour tournament Osaka played in Japan was the 2022 Pan Pacific OP, but she withdrew in the second round due to abdominal pain.
