Korean players win 3 gold medals at Soft Tennis World Championships after 9 years

Lee Min-sun, the bronze medalist in the team competition of the 19th Summer Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2023, won the singles, doubles and team competition of the World Soft Tennis Championships held in Anseong, Republic of Korea, and was selected as the competition MVP.
This is the first time that a Korean soft tennis player has won the Triple Crown of the World Championships since Kim Ae-kyung in the 2015 New Delhi Competition in India. The MBN Women’s Sports Awards judging committee explained the reason for the selection, saying, “Lee Min-sun was active in the world championships and won the overall championship for the Republic of Korea again after 9 years.”
Lee Min-sun, who won the MBN Women’s Sports Awards Monthly MVP trophy for the first time, said, “Thanks to the coach and my teammates, I feel very honored to have won the award. I will work hard to become a better player.”
The MBN Women’s Sports Awards were established in 2012 to activate women’s sports and encourage female sports professionals in Korea. The most dazzling players in Korean female sports are selected every month to award the monthly MVP.
In addition, a comprehensive awards ceremony will be held by inviting players who have contributed to improving the status of Korean women’s sports over the past year. The 2024 MBN Women’s Sports Awards year-end awards ceremony will be held on December 4.
