As in the opening game, Alexander Zverev once again had no trouble at the tournament in Vienna. The 2021 Olympic champion shines with one particular strength.

Alexander Zverev confidently reached the quarter-finals at the <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/01/atp-adelaide-thanasi-kokkinakis-is-prevented-from-serving-by-raven-australian-tries-to-shoot-animal-tennis-video/” title=”ATP Adelaide: Thanasi Kokkinakis is prevented from serving by raven – Australian tries to shoot animal – tennis video”>ATP tournament in Vienna. The 2021 Olympic tennis champion won the round of 16 against American Marcos Giron 6:2, 7:5 in just 72 minutes. The number one seed from Hamburg will now face Lorenzo Musetti from Italy, who advanced without a fight against Frenchman Gaël Monfils.

As with the clear opening win against the Austrian Joel Schwärzler, Zverev had no trouble. In the middle of the first set he took advantage of the break chance to make it 4:2 and pulled away. Overall, the 27-year-old only gave up four points on his own serve in the entire game.

“He served incredibly well in the second set, so I’m very happy that I made it in two sets,” said Zverev, who continues to suffer from the effects of pneumonia. “I’m not completely fit. It’ll take months, but I’m feeling better and better.”
