“Thanks to the work of the administrative machine, we have updated the three-year plan in record time”

Alghero has approved an important update to the Three-Year Public Works Plan 2024-2026, allocating over 6.3 million euros for interventions ranging from school facilities to sports infrastructures, up to the redevelopment of public spaces. But behind these numbers there is intense work, carried out quickly, which the deputy mayor and councilor for public works and maintenance, Francesco Marinaro, is keen to underline. “I would like to thank the staff, technical instructors and administrative staff of the public works and planning service for the intense work they have done. This commitment has allowed us, in a short time, to nominate important projects, especially in the sports sector but not only”, declared Marinaro.

Thanks to this work, the administration managed to update the three-year public works plan accurately, aligning it with the set objectives. Among the projects included in the new plan, the redevelopment of the Maria Pia baseball field (1.6 million euros), the tennis complex (300,000 euros) and the construction of a new school canteen at the primary school and childhood “Grazia Deledda” (750,000 euros). In addition to these interventions, maintenance works have been planned for the covering of the Quarter hall, the redevelopment of the Pino Cuccureddu football field and the completion of the geodesic gym in via Giovanni XXIII.

Marinaro underlined the importance of the coordinated work of the administrative machine, which made this update possible in a very short time. “Updating the plan was not just a planning exercise, but a truly collective achievement. Without the dedication and efficiency of our staff, we would not have been able to achieve this goal.” The impact of these interventions is not limited to the short term. With this update, the administration intends to relaunch the public infrastructure sector, improving the quality of life of citizens and supporting the growing needs of sports clubs, which in recent years have been establishing themselves at a national level.
