The Dordogne-Périgord football district has just validated the existence of the adapted football and support for inclusion commission chaired by Smaïn Fekirini. Made up of 14 members, including parents of children with disabilities, this commission will work with requesting Perigord clubs.
The Adapted Football and Support for Inclusion Commission is recognized by the Dordogne Périgord football district, following the signing of the minutes, adopted at a meeting in September 2024. It can now work with Périgord clubs who will want his support and help. We invited the president of this commission, Smaïn Fekiriniin order to explain its role and its actions to us.
The missions of the adapted football commission and support for inclusion
The Adapted Foot and support for inclusion commission, chaired by Smaïn Fekiriniguest in Sport en Périgord, has set itself the objective of observing and sharing adapted para football training sessions. It will be able to propose areas for improvement in the inclusion of a young person with a mental disability within a club, when the latter requests it. It will help create links between the different sections of the club and will communicate in order to promote each club with an adapted football section. This is a first that deserves to be highlighted and welcomed.
Concrete actions with clubs in the Dordogne Périgord football district
This commission will be able to improve the accessibility of sports infrastructures to guarantee that people with disabilities can access them without obstacles. She will try to represent as many clubs as possible in Dordogne. It will be able to help train the staff and coaches of sports clubs to be more competent in the supervision of athletes with disabilities. It will also offer event days and discovery field sessions with an audience with disabilities, for young people and adults alike. This was the case within Football Sud Bastide on September 18 and this will be the case in Trélissac, on November 14, 2024, in Bergerac, on January 21, 2025, in Sarlat, on March 17, 2025 in Génis on May 13, 2025 and in Marsac sur l’Isle on June 21, 2025 for the adapted football festival and at the same time as the district general assembly.
