A sporting meeting to say the least. THURSDAY September 26, 2024the elected officials of Seine Normandie Agglomération met on the occasion of the community council back to school.

On the agenda were two deliberations which concern the sports areas of Vernonnet, in Vernon (Your) : the request for subsidies for the construction of a no covered shooting for the archery and another request for grants to change the synthetic covering of the tennis courts.

No covered shooting

“The agglomeration plans the construction of a no covered archery at the Vernonnet stadium, in Vernon, in response to the difficulties posed by the bad weather which makes the practice of archery difficult. This new shelter, designed in wood resistant to bad weather and resting on a concrete slab, will allow more frequent use of the site throughout the year,” specifies SNA.

Today, 200 licensees, divided into two clubs (the CSADN and the arc company) use existing infrastructure. The construction of this shelter “will not only improve the comfort of archers, but also promote the continuity of training and competitions”, underlined Frédéric Duché, president of SNA.

In total, the installation costs 15 000 € HT according to estimates made by the agglomeration. The deliberation voted unanimously favorably on Thursday will allow SNA to make requests for subsidies: €6,000 excluding tax from the State via the Rural Territories Equipment Grant (DETR) and €4,500 excluding tax from the Department of ‘Eure. It would therefore remain €4,500 excluding tax to be paid for SNA.

New synthetic for tennis

Change is also expected in the tennis courts installed on the banks of the Seine. On the eight courts what does theAgglotwo of them are made of a synthetic coating.

Problem: the coating in question is “ heavily degraded » and needs to be changed for safety and practical reasons.

The replacement project aims to improve the safety, comfort and durability of the grounds, while allowing continuous use all year round, regardless of weather conditions. The new coating offers numerous advantages: practicability in all weather, lower maintenance costs and contribution to the preservation of natural resources.

The objectives sought are multiple. The choice of this covering will allow a wide range of use and operation throughout the year and whatever the climate, making the practice space profitable and better resistance to bad weather.

Johan Auvray, vice-president in charge of sport at SNA.

Another significant advantage: themaintaining a synthetic pitch is less expensive than a clay court.

Here, the total cost was estimated at 45 000 € HT, financed by grants from the State (€18,000) and the Department of Eure (€13,500). Remaining charge for SNA: €13,500. The elected officials voted unanimously in favor of this deliberation.

“Durable and requiring little maintenance, this surface is economical and suitable for all styles of play. Members of the Tennis Club Vernon (TCV) and schools will thus benefit from secure and efficient courts, usable all year round,” insists Frédéric Duché.
