The Assembly of the Guipuzcoan Cycling Federation rejected by 19 votes to 11 the calendar proposal for the track season prepared by the new board of directors headed by the Provincial Council. There were also two blank votes. The reason given for withdrawing the proposal is that the decision to suspend the season was agreed in a previous Assembly and there had not been enough progress in solving the problems of Gipuzkoan cycling to reverse it. The table that has been established with the Basque Government, Ertzaintza and the Provincial Council meets again the first week of November and if progress is noted, this decision could be reconsidered.
The new board committed to carrying out the necessary preparations and procedures in case it is finally decided that there is a clue. There are no cyclo-cross or road calendars, which will be discussed later.
What was established at this Thursday’s meeting is the Electoral Board. There were no candidates, so it was appointed by lottery, with three members plus three substitutes. It must launch the electoral process although the effective calling of elections is pending a regional order, which details the application of the Sports Law, with the changes required in the statutes of the federation. This order is expected at the end of the month or beginning of November.
The delegate committee of eight people was also established, representing road, track, mountain-bike, organizations and eskola kirola.
