Champions of the last three seasons in the Frontier Baseball League, the Quebec Capitales will be at Stade Paul-Émile Dubé, in Trois-Pistoles, this Saturday, October 12, as part of the third presentation of the Les Buts Filled Fall Classic .
“It is a duty for the members of the Capitales organization to be ambassadors for baseball and other ball sports throughout Quebec. I personally have an attachment to Bas-Saint-Laurent and it is a pleasure for me to go to Trois-Pistoles to be part of this celebration and to encourage this wonderful cause for the young people of the place,” indicates manager Patrick Scalabrini, who accepted the role of honorary president of the tournament.
Organized by the BR Fund in partnership with the City of Trois-Pistoles, the Les Buts Filled Fall Classic has already raised $42,553 for young people in the Basque region during its first two editions.
Interesting announcements are planned during the opening ceremony of the event, this Saturday from 1 p.m., while $33,500 has already been paid to different associations or young people to encourage them to pursue their dreams, whatever their preferred field.
“This friendly softball competition is a perfect pretext to raise money for a noble cause, that of young people,” recalled Pistolois Benoît Rioux, journalist at the Journal de Montréal, founder and administrator of the BR Fund. It is an honor to be able to welcome Patrick Scalabrini and the Capitales to Trois-Pistoles. We can expect quite a show.”
Among the players from the Capitals who are expected on site on Saturday, there is notably Anthony Quirion, who roused the crowd at Stade Canac on Saturday, September 14, with a winning home run at the bottom of the ninth inning to allow the Quebec club to win a third consecutive championship.
Other champions on site
The Capitales will not be the only champions on site since the Trois-Pistoles senior hockey club will also be represented.
The opportunity will be great to once again highlight the conquest of the BA Foundations following the playoffs of the Desjardins Senior Hockey League of Eastern Quebec, in the presence of head coach Eric Belzile and numerous players .
On the sidelines of this next Fall Classic, the BR Fund obviously thanks its many partners, including the City of Trois-Pistoles, the Capitales of Quebec, Construction Michaël Bérubé, Plomberie Turcotte and Minor Baseball of Trois-Pistoles for the organization of the tournament .
