Created in 2008, the Les Archers club in Chouzy-sur-Cisse, affiliated with the French Archery Federation (FFTA), continues to grow. With its 35 members, the club displays great diversity, with 35% women (children and adults). Among the archers, 11 are young, including 4 chicks under 10 years old. Children can start practicing from the age of 8, depending on their body type, which allows an early introduction to this precision sport. The president of the club, Michel Maréchal, specifies that it takes 2 to 3 years to train a good archer.
Quality supervision
The club benefits from the supervision of two FFTA qualified coaches, guaranteeing quality teaching adapted to all levels. Two federal referees ensure that competitions and training run smoothly. Family practice is a characteristic of the Chouzy-sur-Cisse Archers. It’s not uncommon to see parents training alongside their children, strengthening family bonds while sharing a common passion.
A family environment
This sport of concentration allows you to know yourself better, build your personality and gain confidence. It helps to control one’s emotions and brings rigor to everyday life. Michel Maréchal emphasizes having observed notable changes in behavior: “This sport is essentially based on concentration and is very good for hyperactive children. I’ve had a number of them and after 2 to 3 years, you no longer recognize them. We force them to focus on one thing and no longer disperse themselves. »
The club also has an interesting track record. In the past, it has counted a French champion among its members. More recently, the Chouzy-sur-Cisse Archers shone at the French championships, with a third place won by a 16-year-old girl. Open to disabled sports, the club can welcome all archery enthusiasts, without distinction.
With its good results and its family atmosphere, the club continues to attract new members and promote the values of sport.
