The Lions serve a correction to the Cowboys in Dallas

Jared Goff threw for 315 yards and recorded three touchdown passes as the Detroit Lions crushed the Dallas Cowboys 47-9 on Sunday.

This is a fourth straight home defeat for the Texas team, if we include the defeat in the first round of the playoffs last year against the Green Bay Packers.

David Montgomery scored two rushing touchdowns for the Lions (4-1), who lost defensive end Aidan Hutchinson to a serious left leg injury in the third quarter.

Dak Prescott threw two interceptions in the Cowboys’ worst home loss (3-3) since 1988.

The Cowboys’ poor streak follows a 16-game home winning streak, the second longest in organization history.

In his last game, Goff set a record NFL in one game, completing all 18 of his pass attempts in a Detroit victory against the Seattle Seahawks.

The quarterback’s overall streak of 19 completions — six short of the league record — ended when he failed to connect with Jahmyr Gibbs on the Lions’ second offensive play.

Facing a defense deprived of several good players, including Micah Parsons, Goff completed 18 of his 25 passes.

Montgomery’s first touchdown came on a 16-yard pass, then Sam LaPorta scored a 52-yard touchdown on a trick play that gave the Lions a 17-3 lead.

Hutchinson, who entered the game as the leader in sacks in the NFLwas taken off on a stretcher after his leg appeared to break above the ankle when it collided with the left leg of teammate Alim McNeill.

Play was suspended for about 10 minutes as medical staff tended to Hutchinson while players from both teams formed a large circle around him.

Prescott completed 17 of 33 passes and did not throw a single touchdown pass.
