The Ministry of Youth and Sports announced its readiness to host the elections for the Board of Directors of the General Football Federation in the capital, Sana’a, and to bear the financial costs of conducting the elections.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Muhammad Ali Al-Mawlid, confirmed in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that there are no obstacles preventing the holding of the elections in the capital, Sana’a, and that the Ministry and the Youth Fund will support them financially and provide the means for their success. Without the need for elections related to Yemeni sports to be held outside Yemen.

He said, “After the Yemeni Football Association set November 30 as the date for electing a new board of directors, the last elections held by the Yemeni Football Association, headed by Ahmed Al-Eisi, were in the year 2014.”

The Minister of Youth and Sports explained that the Government of Change and Construction welcomes the people of the country, and will ensure the success of their aspirations and support them without exception.

He pointed out that the security conditions in the capital, Sanaa, are stable and suitable for holding elections, contrary to what is being circulated… indicating that the Ministry of Youth, in coordination with the competent authorities, will work to provide all the factors for the success of the elections in light of our country’s possession of qualified cadres in all fields.

The Football Association had sent a circular to the first, second and third division clubs, based on Article (32) of the statute, and after coordination with the International Federation (FIFA) and the Asian Confederation (AFC), in which it set the date and called on the clubs to submit candidates for membership in the Federation’s Board of Directors for the period (2024 AD). 2028 AD).

The circular set 12 noon on Tuesday, October 30, as the deadline for submitting nominations.
