The Morales Judo Club dominates the Castilla y León Championship with a champion and a bronze

Last Sunday, Villares de la Reina (Salamanca) hosted the Castilla y León Judo Championship in the senior category, where the Morales Judo Club was the only Zamorano representative. Despite having a young team, made up of three cadets and a junior, the moralino judokas demonstrated their competitive ability by winning a gold and a bronze medal.

Isabel Fernández (-57 kg) was unlucky in the draw, being left out of the competition in the league phase. For his part, Juan Meana (-60 kg) starred in an outstanding confrontation, in which he scored an Ippon, the highest score in judo. However, a video review penalized his technique for incorrect head support, relegating him to fourth place. A result that knows little after his remarkable performance.

The young Miriam Silvares (-52 kg), despite suffering from a shoulder injury, achieved a bronze after a very tough fight for third place, which lasted more than 10 minutes, far exceeding the regulation four.

But without a doubt, the great protagonist was Elena Bahamonde (-48 kg), who competed not only against rivals from higher categories in age, but also in weight. Bahamonde gave her opponents no options, winning all her fights for Ippon and becoming champion of Castilla y León.
