The National Judo Tournament starts in Michoacán

More than 700 competitors participate, including 32 girls, boys and adolescents from the state DIF

Morelia, Michoacán, October 18, 2024.- The honorary president of the Board of Trustees of the DIF Michoacán System, Grisel Tello Pimentel, inaugurated the Professor Daniel F. Hernández National Judo Tournament, which for the first time is held in Michoacán, with the participation of more than 700 judokas from 28 associations in the country, including 32 girls, boys and adolescents who are under the tutelage of said institution.

The tournament, organized by the DIF Michoacán System, the State Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Cecufid) and the federation and association of the specialty, will take place until October 20 at the Morelia Convention and Exhibition Center (Ceconexpo ), where the participants will compete in the Sub-13, Sub-15, Sub-18, Sub-21 and Senior categories, which will be counted towards the national ranking, as reported by its general director, Óscar Celis Silva.

Tello Pimentel mentioned that this sporting event gives girls, boys and adolescents the opportunity to demonstrate their skill and dedication in the martial art, through values ​​such as respect, honesty, self-control, friendship, courtesy, honor, courage and modesty. , which will also be of great support in their social and comprehensive development.

«This tournament is very special for us, it is the first time that DIF Michoacán has the opportunity to hold a national judo event like this. We are happy to receive you in Michoacán, because you will be able to demonstrate your skills, what you have learned; They are already winners by being here and they have a very great future by having sport as an ally in their lives,” he shared.

In addition to artemarcialists from Michoacán, exponents from Jalisco, Nuevo León, Aguascalientes, Puebla, Hidalgo, Sinaloa, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Mexico City and the State of Mexico, among others, participate.
