The new German champions have been determined, German Judo Association, Story
On the second day of the German Individual Championships in the SCHARRena in Stuttgart, decisions were made in eight weight classes.

The new German champions are Nicolas Kutscher (up to 60 kg), Nicolas Kunze (up to 66 kg), Johannes Valentin Frey (up to 100 kg), Daniel Udsilauri (over 100 kg), Sarah Ischt (up to 48 kg), Nina Güth (up to 52 kg), Anna-Monta Olek (up to 78 kg) and Aylin Mill (over 78 kg).

The women’s final fights

In the class up to 48 kg, Sarah Ischt (24) from VfL Wolfsburg, German champion 2021, beat Helena Grau (23) from TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, German champion 2020, early with a hold.

Nina Güth (18) from JC 71 Düsseldorf, German junior champion, won in the class up to 52 kg in the golden score overtime after punishments against Laura Hiller (22) from 1. JC Mönchengladbach.

Anna-Monta Olek (22) from the Hanover judo team, 2021 junior world champion, ended the final of the class up to 78 kg early with a hold against Julie Hölterhoff (26) from the Homburger Turngemeinde, 2021 German champion.

In the over 78 kg class, Aylin Mill (29) from VfL Sindelfingen, German runner-up in 2023, won against Melina Wien (23) from JC 66 Bottrop, German runner-up in 2022, in overtime after penalties.

The men’s finals

Nicolas Kutscher (20) from JC 66 Bottrop won the final of the class up to 60 kg with Wazaari scoring against four-time German champion Maximilian Heyder (27) from TSV Großhadern.

In the class up to 66 kg, Nicolas Kunze (22) from MTSV Aerzen won in the golden score overtime against Lino Andrea Dello Russo (20) from SSF Bonn. In the 66 kg class there was the longest fight of the championships in the semifinals between defending champion David Ickes from Budokan Lübeck and Nicolas Kunze. Both fought an endurance battle lasting a total of 20:23 minutes.

Johannes Frey (27) from JC 71 Düsseldorf, German champion 2018 and 2019, decided the final of the class up to 100 kg against Tim Schmidt (26) from UJKC Potsdam, German champion 2021 and 2023 in the class up to 90 kg, after just 14 seconds for himself and thus won his third DM title.

Daniel Udsilauri (21) from TSV Erbach, third in the 2023 DM, won the title in the over 100 kg class against Marvin Belz (24) from UJKC Potsdam through a Wazaari score in golden score overtime.

In the medal table, Bavaria takes first place with four gold, two silver and four bronze medals, ahead of Lower Saxony (4/2/2) and North Rhine-Westphalia (3/4/6).
