«Bold forever», by faith and passion. A large and prestigious family, that of AS Audace Boxe, based a stone’s throw from the Colosseum, which mourns the death of the Maestro Cesare Venturini.
President of the oldest gym in Rome, founded by statute in 1898, full of memorabilia and precious testimonies, passed away at the age of 75, after dedicating his entire life to sport. The most famous boxing temple in the capital was born as Polisportiva 123 years ago, excelling in numerous sports such as football (then the Audace of football merged with Roma), wrestling, judo, athletics, fencing and weightlifting, also renowned for the famous Sala Gigli, donated by the tenor Beniamino Gigli.

Thanks to Maestro Venturini, a generous man supported by his wife Anna, as vice president and by his sons Fabio and Gabriele, first boxers and then teachers and organizers, today points of reference for agonists and enthusiasts, the gym has hosted many famous Italian professional boxers and managers what foreigners. On the walls the memory in black and white and in color of many boxing legends who wore gloves at the Audace, such as Nino Benvenuti, a very young Cassius Clay, Leone Efrati, Mario Bianchini, Enrico Urbinati, Aldo Bentini, Vincenzo Cantatore up to Mike Tyson.
Many actors also entered the ring of Roma ’60, which escaped the auction and was restored thanks to a crowdfunding launched after the pandemic by the Venturini, including Sylvester Stallone. Set of numerous film projects and commercials, Audace Boxe will continue in the name of Cesare Venturini. «Another pillar of Italian boxing has left us – the condolences of the President of the Federboxeo Flavio D’Ambrosi -, a guide and example for the entire boxing movement.
