I coordinate the activities, I touch everything but the success of the tournament is above all collective. We owe it to everyone who participates in the organization“, underlines Adélaïde De Hertogh.

She didn’t just organize. She also played and won: “I won in mixed doubles 7-8 with Kévin Clavier.”

This year the tournament brought together 334 participants. “We returned to the participation we knew before Covid“, underlines Philippe Bierlaire.

The club organizes two tournaments per season. “We have our youth tournament in March. In previous years, the 11-12 adult categories were added in addition to the youth tournament. This will no longer be the case in 2025, we focus on young people“, underlines Philippe Bierlaire.

Ten interclub teams

Rixensart fields ten interclub teams this season. “We lost our first men’s team which played in division 2 of the league. Players stopped or left. We have not found players with sufficient skill to replace them. It was the end of a cycle. We maintain a mixed team and a ladies team in the league, a ladies team 1.”

With 270 members, the Rixensart club is one of the most important clubs in Wallonia. “We have kept a pyramid which allows young people to integrate into adult interclubs. These take place during the week, the young people therefore only play primarily at home.”

Victory in the “I play for my club” challenge

The club is recognized for training young people. “We train them in mini-bad from 8 years old. We have developed the mini-bad hopes workouts with two workouts per week. We have a category of young people who are 11-12 years old. Further up, we have our competition center, divided into two levels, the improvement center and, for the best, the performance center, in which Félix Duval is integrated. Last season, we won the “I play for my club” challenge organized by the French-speaking league to encourage young people to compete. Each victory brings points to the club.”
