«The thieves were in a rented car»

They saw them arrive near a restaurant Posillipo. One of the two emerged from a car and had an easy time breaking into it Smart parked outside one brazier. A classic theft, the one perpetrated against the footballer Matteo Politano last week. A story that culminated in a complaint, in a heartfelt appeal from the footballer (“give me back my wallet, it was a gift from a loved one”), but also in the discovery of the stolen car in a warehouse via Nazionale delle Puglie. Police investigation, the men at work Mobile of the first manager Giovanni Leuci, there are some fixed points. We start from the vehicle used by the bandits to reach Posillipo, where they carried out the heist: the thieves used a rented car, which is quite atypical for this type of crime.

They did not use stolen vehicles, proceeds of receiving stolen goods, but a car guaranteed by a normal contract with a Neapolitan agency. Needless to say, the investigators knocked on the door of the agency – whose owners are unrelated to the criminals’ actions – and obtained some useful information to reconstruct the names of the two car thieves. At the moment, there is one name in the investigators’ sights. He is the person who signed the rental contract and who, according to a general reconstruction, could have given the vehicle to the two perpetrators of the theft. It delves into the criminal circles of the area Don Guanella district e Secondiglianothe investigations are well underway. There are a series of images in the documents. Those of the theft, but also – taking a step back – those of the definition of the contract (a scene that would have been immortalized in a video), which could represent the keystone of the investigation.

A story that must be placed in a city context shaken into fibrillation at the same time. Napoli, as is known, are first in the standings, while in the space of a month and a half three raids were carried out against blue footballers. We start from the armed robbery suffered by David Neres (whose watch was taken away), to the damage to Juan Jesus’ Range Rover (attempted theft hypothesis), up to the theft of Politano’s Smart. Three different, unconnected episodes, as the investigators themselves clarified: “There is no plot against Napoli and its players, there is no conspiracy.”

A subject, that of the blows against the Azzurri, which presents itself in a cyclical way, regardless of the seasons experienced in recent years by the Neapolitan club, always and in any case destined to fuel suggestions of all kinds. Obviously no lead is discarded, especially in light of what is also recorded in other metropolitan contexts. The Double Curve investigation conducted by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office recently began, regarding the alleged extortionate pressure conducted by ultra fringes against the black, blue and red and black clubs. Nothing similar, however, has been recorded in Naples, where the Italian club has had the merit – for over twenty years – of cutting ties with the rear ultra.
