And yes, again. The category, the tournament, the venue or the context no longer matters. In recent years, Whenever the Argentine National Team had to play against Brazil, it got used to repeating the same formula: making it worse in any way. On this occasion it was the kids, the Sub 15 of Placente, that selection of boys who left their clubs’ agenda to, in many cases, represent playing a tournament for the beans for the first time with the AFA shield on their chest. Although they could not close the group stage with a victory, the 1-1 draw, having tied 1-1 against Brazil, was enough to eliminate the eternal rival from a competition in which it is a power: Verdeamarela won five of the nine editions of the South American of this category. Against a Brazil that wore the patch on its chest, the youth gritted their teeth, endured and celebrated twice. And yes, it is exciting.

They are exciting, the kids. It’s clear: they are boys. Very guys. But the national team project, the one that Lionel Scaloni who had his time in the Under 20 before directing the Major League, knows well, begins to shape them before they turn 15 years old. Therefore, in the middle of a FIFA date that has the entire Scaloneta gathered at the AFA grounds, everyone watched the game and encouraged the kids.

The thing is, looking at the Sub 15 is a great plan. Our kids arrived classified on the last date of Group B And, the classic against Brazil, they played it with the peace of mind of knowing that no matter what happened, they had their place in the semifinal assured. On the other hand, Verdeamarela needed to win no matter what. And Argentina took advantage of that desperation.

It had all the condiments that an Argentina-Brazil has: cards, strong leg, collisions, beautiful game and great goals: after a great associated play by the Placente team, with an excellent turnaround and definition at the far post, Felipe Esquivel put Argentina ahead on the scoreboard. Although the Brazilian tie came at the end of the first half, Argentina had a good tandem. He buckled with the precision of a Marcipar who cut everything and a Martínez who, despite the fact that he was scoring his first goals in this tournament, took everything that a spicy Brazil threw at him. Win in the game and in hope, Argentina, which continues to form future stars…

The CONMEBOL Sub 15 2023 will be played in two phases: preliminary phase (group phase) and final phase (semifinal and final). All phases will be played in a single round of matches. The preliminary phase is played by 10 teams, distributed into 2 groups of 5 teams each.
