Netflix is working hard in 2024 to finally reach the symbolic milestone of 300 million subscribers around the world. For many years, this SVOD service has focused on the production of original content, notably series, films and anime, but intends to invest in a new market… that of sport… and not just any market. We are talking here about the number 1 sport in the United States.

NFL Kickoff on Netflix

We learned last May that Netflix had acquired the rights to several NFL games (for National Football League). The four meetings are those taking place during the Christmas period and more precisely on D-Day, i.e. December 25. In 2024, it is the matches between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers at 7:00 p.m. and the Baltimore Ravens against the Houston Texans at 10:30 p.m. (Paris time) which will delight fans of the discipline. We do not currently know those made available to subscribers in 2025 and 2026

Netflix paid the modest sum of 75 million US dollars to acquire the rights to these meetings which bring together millions of spectators mainly in North America, but not only. And by analyzing television audiences in the United States, we understand why the streaming platform spends so much on this sport. In 2023, the 14 best audiences in the USA were NFL games while 39 were in the TOP 50. In order to meet subscribers at the end of December 2024, Netflix has just released a trailer (see above)

On December 25, watch CHIEFS vs STEELERS matches LIVE at 7:00 p.m. PT, and RAVENS vs TEXANS at 10:30 p.m. PT. Get cozy for your new Christmas tradition! LIVE on Netflix. – (Netflix France)
