Antton Soroa, son of Miguel Soroa, was part of the presidential table at the presentation of the Memorial that commemorates for the eleventh time the superb defender from Elduain, Manomanista champion and one of the best left-handers in the history of baseball. Route 33 in Alegia hosted the launch of thirty couples divided into three categories. They compete starting this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in a tournament with a single venue, that Beotibar in Tolosa to which the mere presence of Soroa gave shine, even as a spectator. It is played in eliminatory rounds and the organization has distributed the ten couples of each category in a ladder for two legs, whose seeds will enter the fray in the semifinals. The games will be played on Saturdays, except for Sundays, December 8 and 15. The final is scheduled for January 4 in the afternoon, in the final stretch of the Christmas season.
The participating couples by categories are as follows.
Elite: Julen Alberdi-Bernaola, Igoa-Antton Apezetxea, Fernández-Landa, Eñaut Lizeaga-Beñat Garmendia and Unai Amiano-Sotil (branch 1); Beñat Apezetxea-Apeztegia, Iker Egiguren-Irazustabarrena, Oihan Etxeberria-Azpiroz, Rekalde-Oliden and Ekhi Irribarria-Loza (rama 2).
Promesas: Iraeta-Iker García, Sarasibar-Erle, Murua-Leonet, Ibarluzea-Ander Garmendia and Cestau-Albeniz (branch 1); Apaolaza-Galartza, Egurrola-Beloki, Izagirre-Elorz, Nazabal-Santesteban and Aranbarri-Balerdi (branch 2).
