Three home runs help Dodgers take 4-1 lead after six innings

(Los Angeles) The Los Angeles Dodgers took a 4-1 lead after six innings against the New York Yankees on Saturday night in Game 2 of the World Series.

The five points of this meeting were obtained through four long balls, including three by the Los Angeles team.

Tommy Edman got the ball rolling as the leadoff batter in the second inning. He catapulted an offering from pitcher Carlos Rodon over the left field fence to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.

On their turn at bat, in the third inning, the Yankees tied the game when Juan Soto sent a Yoshinobu Yamamoto fastball into the right field bleachers.

New York’s celebrations were short-lived, as the Dodgers responded with three runs in the bottom of the third inning.

After a single from Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernandez hit a resounding two-run homer in right. Freddie Freeman, the hero of the first game, followed with a powerful slam over the right field fence.

The Dodgers threatened again in the fourth inning, following a one-out double by Will Smith. Smith, however, was left at third base when Miguel Rojas and Shohei Ohtani were both grounded out.

Rodon left the game after three and a third innings of work. He allowed four runs and six hits for the Yankees.

Yamamoto returned to the mound to start the seventh inning.

The Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in this series after winning the first matchup 6-3 on Friday night. Freeman ended the debate with a game-winning grand slam in 10e some.

This is the 12the World Series clash between the Yankees and Dodgers, but the first since 1981.

The Dodgers are looking to capture their eighth World Series title and second in five years. The Yankees are aiming for 28ebut they haven’t won top honors since 2009.

The third duel will take place Monday evening at Yankee Stadium. Walker Buehler will be on the mound for the Dodgers and he will face Clarke Schmidt.
