Three pure Danish matches on the first day at the VICTOR DENMARK OPEN

Viktor Axelsen will be on the court on Tuesday at the VICTOR DENMARK OPEN, and in total there are 11 Danish matches on day 1.

For the next six days, there will be a badminton party in the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense.

VICTOR DENMARK OPEN 2024 is held this week, and if you want to see a lot of Danes on the court, then Tuesday is a good day to go to the hall.

11 matches during Tuesday will be with Danish participation. Where three of the matches are even with Danes on both sides of the net. One of them is with Sara Thygesen and Maiken Fruergaard, who are starting their last tournament together as a partner.

Tuesday will also be the day when first-seeded Viktor Axelsen starts at the VICTOR DENMARK OPEN on his home court in Odense.

  • Viktor Axelsen (1st) – Yushi Tanaka (match 12 on court 1 approximately at 19.30)
  • Line Kjærsfeldt – Gregoria Tunjung (5th) (match 13 on lane 1 at approximately 8.15pm)
  • Jesper Toft/Amalie Magelund (6th) – Dechapol/Supissara (match 13 on court 2 approximately at 20.30)

Since 1936, the tournament in Denmark has been part of the international badminton scene, making it the world’s second oldest badminton tournament.

The tournament has been held in 11 different Danish cities. From 1936 -1989 the tournament was played in Copenhagen, where it has since been played in Aalborg, Middelfart, Farum, Solrød, Højbjerg, Vejle and Aarhus, before moving to Odense in 2007.

After 13 successful years in Odense Idrætshal, the tournament moved in 2022 under the larger and more flexible roof in Jyske Bank Arena.

With 141 titles, Denmark is the nation with the most titles at the tournament, followed by China with 71.

At the VICTOR DENMARK OPEN 2024, you can look forward to much more than world-class badminton and the biggest stars. In the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense, there will also be autograph signing, Kids Zone, competitions and much more, which will give the whole family a good experience.
