This is announced by the Danish Divisionsforeningen after the chaotic scenes in Copenhagen.

It was in the rival meeting between Bröndby and FC Copenhagen that pyrotechnic pieces were thrown between the supporters.

The Copenhagen derby was prompted by rowdy scenes.

It was before the match that supporters from the Bröndby side rushed along one long side and threw pyrotechnic pieces at the FCK section of the arena.

It was met in an aggressive way from the guests who threw back pieces as well as other things around the stands. Shortly after the answer, the home supporters retreated.

The match was postponed for about a quarter of an hour after the events and The extra sheet described that “the police work under high pressure”. At the arena, the announcer also announced that if pyrotechnics continued to be thrown, the match risked being interrupted.

No away fans indefinitely

Now the Danish Divisionsforeningen decides that future derbies will be played without an away crowd indefinitely.

FC Copenhagen distances itself from the scenes in the derby and backs the decision.

“FC Copenhagen strongly distances itself from the incident and deeply regrets that it failed to keep the supporter groups separate in the arena. Such scenes have absolutely nothing to do with football.”

“After the match, the Divisional Association has decided to suspend away supporters from the derby indefinitely. We accept the decision and support the intentions – all tools must be tried in this process.”, writes the club in a press release.

“Unacceptable and incomprehensible”

The country’s culture minister condemned the action via his account X on Sunday in connection with the match.

It’s amazing how many violent fools are ready to destroy the joy of football. Unacceptable and incomprehensible. When I’m back from parental leave I’ll have a serious talk with the clubs and DBUinfocloseDBUDanish Football Association.. This cannot continue”, writes Jakob Engel-Schmidt.

Earlier this week, Silkeborg supporters protested before the match against Aalborg. Even then, pyrotechnic pieces were thrown onto the field.
