Hockey players Vlci Žilina won Wednesday’s preliminary game of the 17th round of the Tipos extraliga over HK Dukla Michalovce 4:3 after separate raids.

Their triumph was decided by Kamil Walega, before that his teammate Hunter Fejes presented himself with three goals in regular time. It was the second victory in a row for Žilina, Michalovce failed in the past two duels.

Teams started without their most productive players. Nick Jones from Žilina was ruled out by health problems, Kaspars Daugavinš from Michal was absent due to a penalty. The home team took the lead in the 11th minute, when Gachulinac’s shot, which, according to the official record, was deflected by Fejes.

The visitors got off to a good start in the second period, in which they scored two goals to make it 1:2, but Fejes equalized from a free kick in the 27th minute.

The same player scored the home team’s third goal in the 47th minute in a power play, but the visitors sent the match to overtime when Varga made it 3-3 from close range less than two seconds before the third siren. The winner was decided by separate raids, in which Tourigny, Walega and Svitana prevailed.
