Tlaxcala receives Archery Final, ninth international event in 3 years

The governor, accompanied by sports authorities, inaugurated the 2024 World Cup Final; The competitions will be on Saturday and Sunday

Tlaxcala hosts, for the second time, the Final of the Archery World Cup, an event that completes nine international sporting events in just three years.

The governor, Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, accompanied by archery authorities at the national and international level, the general director of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), Rommel Pacheco, competitors and state authorities, inaugurated the competition that will take place next October 19 and 20 in the Plaza de la Constitución in the capital.

With a full house to enjoy the pyrotechnics and drones show, the 32 archers from 16 countries were presented, including the Mexican delegation, who will participate in the compound and recurve bow categories.

The 32 participants are the best in the world, that is, in Tlaxcala the medalists from the recent Paris 2024 Olympics and some others who are ranked at the same level will compete on this occasion.

Recognizing that Tlaxcala has been one of the entities that in three years has stood out for hosting events that had not been witnessed, Governor Lorena Cuéllar said in her speech that in the three remaining years of her government she will have to bring more events of this nature. size to the entity.

She said that only one city in Switzerland has held the world archery final twice, the same times that Tlaxcala has achieved it in less time, so she said she was willing to put in all her efforts to make this happen again.

He thanked the sports authorities for their support so that, in addition to the State hosting these finals, it becomes known worldwide as one of the most important cities in the field.

“It is a great reward for me to know that Tlaxcala is heard throughout the world, that we raise the name of the state and that we make our culture, our gastronomy, and all the art we have known; I want to tell you that I will continue working for sport,” he stressed.

For his part, the general director of CONADE, Rommel Pacheco, thanked the state president for supporting sport and Mexican athletes, as it is a prevention tool that motivates and inspires many people to follow the examples of the medalists by rebuilding the social fabric.

The governor and the head of CONADE gave recognition to the archers who have obtained an Olympic medal for Mexico in history, and recognized the athletes who obtained a medal in Paris 2024, and then enjoyed a welcome show.

The archery finals in both forms will be held: Saturday, October 19 (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.), men’s compound; Saturday, October 19 (2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) women’s compound; Sunday, October 20 (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) men’s recurve and Sunday, October 20 (2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.) women’s recurve.
