Turin beats Como 1-0 on the ninth day of the championship

THE MATCH
Vanoli wanted the points and his Toro gave him three: against Como the goal of the 2005 class Njie was decisive, following a gift from Braunoder, the Granata got back up after four consecutive defeats. The guests, however, create many opportunities and the best on the pitch is Milinkovic-Savic. Having been missing since May 18th, President Cairo returns to the stadium and is greeted by the usual chants of protest, which this time also concern director Vagnati. Vanoli chooses to switch to a real five-man line in defense: Walukiewicz is the winger blocked on the right and Lazaro has more freedom to attack on the left, in the middle there are Coco, Maripan and Masina. In Como the great former Belotti, much booed in the stadium, starts again from the bench and in attack Fabregas confirms Cutrone with the trident Strefezza, Paz and Fadera in support. In the stands there is also Pato Henrnandez, one of the idols of the Toro fans of the 1980s, and the visiting fans get applause for the banner dedicated to Gigi Meroni: “The Granata Butterfly continues to fly in the blue and white sky” the message for the double ex disappeared in a car accident in 1967.

Toro goes on the defensive and leaves Adams and Sanabria too alone up front, Como risks nothing and Paz’s attempt misses the target, while Fadera doesn’t take advantage of Coco’s slip by kicking at Milinkovic-Savic. It is a match without emotions and with many technical errors, of which only four yellow cards are worth mentioning (Strefezza, Masina, Goldaniga plus Linetty for protests) and the stoppage of Roberto, who leaves the field in the 38th minute due to a muscle problem and is replaced by Braunoder. The only chance led to Adams’ goal launched by Walukiewicz, but referee Ayroldi immediately canceled it for offside. Vanoli shouts at half-time and looks for solutions after ball possession reads 70 to 30 for Como, Toro returns with Vojvoda replacing Walukiewicz. The Granata found courage and created, with Lazaro who headed a great response from Audero on the hour mark. The guests respond with Strefezza and Vanja is reactive in the rebound, so Vanoli plays his Njie and Gineitis cards. It is Como, however, who are still dangerous: Paz shoots from distance, Vanja deflects for a corner with the help of the crossbar. In the 75th minute, the turning point: Braunoder misses the back pass, Njie takes advantage and, after passing Audero, deposits it into the net. Fabregas tries to equalize by also bringing in Belotti, Toro finishes in trouble and is saved again by Vanja. Vanoli regains a victory that was missing for a month, Como remains at 9.
