The Iraqi Football Association succeeded in contracting with the Transfer Market website, which specializes in football statistics, player data and values, and match analysis in international leagues.
These steps come as part of the Iraqi Federation’s endeavor to develop the reality of the Iraq Stars League, which was launched in its professional version last season 2023-2024, after the league lacked statistics and numbers that were not available on any official platform or website.
Sports marketing specialists confirm the importance of this step taken by the Iraqi Federation in the issue of marketing players and providing the necessary statistics.
Sports marketing specialist Zaid Yaarub told Al Jazeera Net, “Certainly, registering the Iraq Stars League on the Transfer Market website is a step in the right direction to digitally archive the players’ contributions and efforts.”
He added, “This platform is considered a reliable database for clubs and players’ agents, which facilitates the marketing of players and raising their marketing value. It also provides statistics about the league and players that can be trusted to a certain degree.”
Regarding marketing players around the world, Yaarub explained, “This step contributes to marketing players abroad, but at a rate that does not exceed 10%. Therefore, I believe that the Iraqi Federation must take more steps in the future regarding this issue.”
He added, “The Iraqi Federation must move to contract with international analysis companies such as (YScout and Instat) to archive statistics and provide a database that includes photos and videos to allow everyone to obtain a comprehensive analysis of the players’ skills to make it easier for scouts and external clubs to follow Iraqi league players.”
According to the Iraqi Federation’s statement, the Iraqi sports street can now obtain information and statistics for all league players, starting from the current season, which has reached its fourth round.
