Trend analysis: Which teams are presenting a new style of play? – NBA every day

#1048: The first week of the NBA season is over. This means a boom for “overreactions” and “hot takes”. For JTNBA co-host Torben, the first games of the season also offer a good opportunity to use certain metrics to examine in more detail which teams have a changed style of play. The main focus is on the offensive style of play, which can be derived from pace and three-point rate. Torben looks at seven teams that show a different face than last season: Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks. What kind of plays are the head coaches of these teams running? What are your offensive concepts? And what is just a first trend and where is there already substance behind it? In this almost 70-minute episode, we attempt an initial trend analysis of the 2024-25 NBA season.
