two days after its exploit, Paris falls to Munich in the Euroleague

48 hours after their historic victory against Panathinaikos, the Parisians narrowly conceded this Thursday on the Bayern floor.

Breath subsided. Two days after securing the first victory in its history in the Euroleague by dominating Panathinaikos (84-80), reigning champion, Paris Basketball bit the dust in the Bayern Munich room (109-107) after having the ball of the match in the final seconds.

The Parisians, manhandled for almost 25 minutes (56-66), almost achieved a near hold-up in a completely crazy end to the match: with two consecutive winning shots, Tyson Ward (104-106 13 seconds from the buzzer) then Nadir Hifi (107-108 at 12 sec) maintained hope, before Bayern lost the ball on the throw-in.

But TJ Shorts (22 pts and 9 assists), with seven seconds to play, did not manage to conclude his race victoriously, blocked in the racket when he could perhaps have shifted an unmarked partner.

In addition to this last action, the Parisians may regret too lax defense, in particular on Shabazz Napier (27 pts, 6/10 at 3 pts) and Carsten Edwards (32 pts, 6/8 at long distance).

They enjoyed themselves behind the arc in this very offensive match where 27 three-point baskets were scored (13/32 for Paris, 14/33 for Bayern, whose assistant coach is the former coach of Asvel TJ Parker).
