Last Sunday and while the streets of Donostia were filled with skaters competing in the now traditional Classic Salto 15 km SS event, two San Sebastian residents stood on the podium in the European Master Championship in speed skating in the marathon distance.
The test took place along the seafront of Naples, on a sunny day and with a spectacular ground and course.
Oihana Jareño from the Bera Bera Patín Eskola team achieved the runner-up position after a disputed sprint in the M40 category while Enrique Martinez, from CD Itsasmendi KE, took third position in the M50. Martínez was already European Master Champion in this event in 019.
